How to Make the Alors on Danse AI Trend | Stromae & Jamel
The clip everyone is face-swapping into is not a making-of. It is a comedy sketch.
The viral Alors on Danse AI trend uses a 2010 Stromae and Jamel Debbouze sketch from Made in Jamel — the clip many people online know as the "Alors on Danse making-of."
In the sketch, Stromae is at a workstation in a white studio, stuck on a song. Jamel walks in and starts "helping" — suggesting a "sound of a sick duck," asking for "depressing lyrics with a chorus that slaps," and eventually taking credit for composing the entire thing. The joke is that Jamel pretends he wrote "Alors on Danse," one of the biggest European pop songs of the decade. Stromae plays along. The whole six-minute bit is scripted and directed — Jamel says it himself in the sketch: "On donne l'impression d'improviser mais tout est écrit."
Most captions online call it a "behind the scenes" or "making of." It is neither. It is a comedian doing a bit about taking credit for someone else's work.
That is also why the AI face-swap version is funny. The trending version puts Sam Altman and Dario Amodei in the two roles — two AI CEOs "composing" a Belgian pop hit. The format was already a parody. The swap just changes who is claiming credit.

The white studio backdrop and static camera make this one of the cleaner face swaps. There are no location changes, no complex lighting shifts, no crowd. Two people in a white room.

Try for Free →What the Two Roles Are
This is not two people performing side by side like a Genius Open Mic or a COLORS session. The two roles are different:
The workstation role (Stromae) is the musician. Stromae is at the laptop building the beat, occasionally looking up at Jamel, nodding along to suggestions. He is mostly still, focused, reacting.
The visitor role (Jamel) is the comedian. Jamel is animated — pointing, clapping on the beat, jogging toward the camera, gesturing at the laptop. Most of the movement in the clip comes from this role.
If one of your two people is more expressive or animated, put them in the Jamel role. The AI has more motion to map onto that side, so a livelier face reads better there.

"Alors on Danse" was released September 2009, written by Stromae and co-produced with Dimitri Borrey. It hit No. 1 in nineteen countries and crossed a billion Spotify streams in August 2026. The official music video — a completely separate thing from the sketch — has over 568 million YouTube views. Kanye West remixed it. Pitbull covered it.
The sketch works as a trend because the song is universally recognized. The first few notes of the beat are enough for anyone scrolling to know exactly what they are hearing, which means the face swap lands immediately. You do not need to explain the reference. The song does that.
